It is no secret that the nation of Israel initiated the idea of making a canal from the Red Sea to the Dead Sea to help replenish the depleting water supply there, and to help provide much needed drinking water in the Negev. This water will also help the Jordanians and Palestinians with their depleting fresh water supply. This project is supposed to be funded by the World Economic Forum and is being looked at as an example of how that through mutual need, cooperation between these people groups can be achieved.

Did you know that the Hebrew Scriptures clearly prophesy about the Red-Dead Sea pipeline. In the Dead Sea scrolls we find the scroll of the Hebrew prophet Isaiah on display at the Shrine of the Book museum. In this scroll, this amazing prophecy is found. In chapter 43 of this prophetic book we can read the following.

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.” Isaiah 43

This was written close to 700 years BC. Now, 2,700 years later, the Dead project, is going forward. It is being used by the international community as an example showing that mutual peace can be achieved when necessary resources such as drinking water are shared. The project is not only going to help keep the Dead Sea from dying, but has the hope of bringing peace talks and new life in the region for these recipients of this water and for a model of how a peace plan can work.

This long awaited engineering marvel shows people that the Bible is not fiction or a just a fairy tale but the very Word of God that gives us perfect foresight of what will happen in the future. It is God’s accurate writing, teaching us specific direction concerning our Creator and His will for our lives. In this same great book of Isaiah, we read the following.

“For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:” Isaiah 44:3

What this means is that Israel is supposed to have a spiritual revival that satisfies her thirst for satisfaction and spiritual sustenance which is needed for upcoming generations of her youth. This spiritual revival is like the Dead Sea, the lowest body of water on earth (compare it toIsrael’s long history), finding a sort of resurrection. The Dead Sea is being resurrected like Israel is today- nationally, politically, physically and spiritually. This is a miracle that only God could dictate to Isaiah 2,700 years before the actual event happened. In chapter 43 of Isaiah, we find that Isaiah did not only talk about Israel’sresurrection, but also of her redemption.

Isaiah 43:1 states, “But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” God says that Israel belongs to Him. “…thou art mine…”

Then God speaks of Israel’s reclamation in this present day. Look at Isaiah 43:5-6.

“Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed (children) from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;” Next, we see the God-given purpose for Israel. God says that Israel has the purpose to bring glory to God. Isaiah 43:7 says, “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”

Then we see Israel has a special place- to beGod’s chosen witness of His sovereign power and authority over the nations. Isaiah 43:10 “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” Israel has a special place in the heart of God to be a witness of God’s severity and of His redeeming, reclaiming, and protecting love. God shows with Israel how far one can stray away from Him and yet still be reclaimed and loved by God. To prove this is true, God spells out a modern day fulfillment of the 2,700 year old prophecy of the Red Dead project as a project inIsrael’s wilderness that would satisfy her thirst in one of the driest places on earth.

Notice again in Isaiah 43:19,20.

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast (governments of the world) of the field shall honour me, the dragons (the enemies of God) and the owls (wise people of earth): because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.” Isaiah 43:19-20

Then he ends the chapter with these words. “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions(removes all record of your failures) for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” Isaiah 43:25. This means the God of Israel has the power to totally remove from a person any violation they have had in their past for breaking God’s holy law. God is even saying He is ready to forgive the sins of Israel. How can God blot (strike out) one’s sins?

You can find this in Isaiah 53:5. “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” This passage teaches that a person was wounded for Israel’s transgression. It says these words. “… with his stripes we are healed.” In verse 8, it says he died, or was “cut off … for the transgression of my people.” In verse 10 it says,“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin.”

Simply stated, we see that God can wash away our sins totally because someone who was innocent died as God’s offering for our sin. And who is this person that died for us? It was Jesus Christ, God’s Son who came to die as God’sinnocent Lamb for all the transgressions of men. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. This means that God’sSon, Jesus, came from Heaven to die on the cross for our sin so that God can blot out our sins when we believe the following:

•That Jesus truly is the Messiah of Israel and Saviour of mankind.
•That Jesus truly died for our sins as our innocent sacrifice.
•That Jesus arose from the dead the third day.•That Jesus can forgive a person of all the sins they ever committed.
•All one has to do is, simply believe and receive this message of his death, burial, and resurrection. This proves He is the great sacrifice for the sins of Israel and the rest of the whole world. But we must call on Him, and let Jesus satisfy our barren souls by the water of life He offers, just like the water from the Red-Dead project will satisfy those who drink from it.

Jesus said these words. “…whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

Pray this prayer, “Dear Jesus, I believe you are truly the Son of God. I believe you have power to forgive me, that you died for my sins on the cross, and that you arose from the dead on the third day. I now turn to you and trust you for forgiveness. Thank you for your great salvation. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen!
